Switzerland – Bernese Alpes

Lauterbrunnen valley, surrounded by impressive mountains with the famous trinity – Eiger, Monch and Jungfraujoch, is a unique natural place. Several waterfalls and small historically preserved villages give it a fairytale atmosphere. Lauterbrunnenwith its waterfalls or Wengen with SKI Races and Murren without any cars are certainly the most attractive villages for visitors.

Beautiful valleys were discovered by foreign climbers in the 18th century, and when British tourists discovered the magic of winter sports in the 19th century, it was decided – the time of the beginning and heyday of building railways and cable cars, they connected all interesting places in such a way that even today tourists from all over the world appreciate the original and high-quality connecting distant places.

These picturesque places also admired and inspired the writer J.W. Goethe, J.R.R. Tolkien. And it’s no wonder that the Attractive Mountains were discovered by filmmakers where in fact 1969 James Bond was shot here.

And what to do here? During the winter it is most popular to ski, bobsled or do traditional curling. And during the summer months, I warmly recommend you to climb, hike, bike, paraglide or just relax in the middle of beauty nature because this location really is for everyone.

Are you thirsty or hungry? Local beers or many types of mineral waters are unique. Do not forget to try the Cheese FondueRaclette or Rösti – they are the most popular tradition food. Swiss Chocolate and Chesses are very tasty and known in the world.

GOOD TO KNOW: Switzerland (capital Bern)- officially the Swiss Confederation is famous small country (8.500.000 population) in the western- Central Europe – with many lakes, mountains, ski resorts! The country is famous for being watch-making capital of the world – more than 20.000 people are employed in this fine industry.

MY TIP for a couple days TRIP: absolutely unforgettable visit to Interlaken which is known for its famous lakeside resort from the 18th century that offers many watersports (lake Brienz) activities. While also visiting the hidden gem city of Thunwith its medieval castle and museum.
